Live at the Bean

This Live CD started with a simple little lullabye, called "Hushabye." We put it on the first CD, The Journey, recorded at Peter McConnel's studio in 2000, with Peter, myself, and John Lovejoy, before we ever had our first gig as a band. It won a finalist prize in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest later that year, and Brian Rothschild of the contest made an offer that if their educational tour bus was ever in the area, and they could work it out, that they would record a live performance.

When the opportunity came up in March of 2002, there was only a week's notice. Thankfully, everything fell into place. Peter McConnel got back from Europe in time to play for the concert, and Peter Manship, who ran the music series at A State of Bean in Ludlow, Vt, for several years, went above and beyond the call of duty to make it a well attended event.

For me, it was a delightful evening, sharing my favorite thing, music, with old friends and new. There is something magical that happens when performing music live before an audience. The exchange of energies can be amazing. (Audiences often don't realize their importance in that magical mix!)
